Evidence Board
Pin the clues, mark the ghosts, and solve the mystery before time runs out.
The Evidence Board is a central piece of equipment found within the Phasmophobia investigation van, serving as the primary hub for team coordination and data synthesis. It acts as a physical manifestation of the investigators' collective knowledge, allowing them to pin up photos, mark off potential ghost types, and track which evidence has been confirmed or ruled out during an active hunt.

Lore & Background
The board's surface bears the scars of countless investigations, with faint marks from previous pins and the lingering sense of dread that comes from crossing off impossible evidence combinations. It is here that the team debates the nature of the spirit they face, turning scattered observations into a coherent theory. As the investigation progresses, the board transforms from a blank slate into a map of the ghost's identity, guiding the team toward the ultimate truth.
In Their Own Story
The rain hammered against the van's roof, a rhythmic drumbeat that barely drowned out the frantic scratching on the Evidence Board. "It's not an Orb," Sarah whispered, her finger hovering over the list as she crossed it out with a trembling hand. The UV light had shown nothing but dust in the hallway. Mark slammed a pin into the 'Spirit Box' slot. "We heard a name," he insisted, his voice tight with adrenaline. They stared at the remaining options, the board now a stark grid of elimination, waiting for one final clue to reveal what was hunting them.
Reader's Guide
The Evidence Board is essential for organizing your team's findings during an investigation. It allows you to visually track which pieces of evidence have been discovered and which ghost types are still possible candidates. To use it effectively, assign a team member to monitor the board while others gather data in the haunted location. As you confirm evidence like Fingerprints or Spirit Box responses, immediately mark them on the board to narrow down the list of potential ghosts. While the board itself does not consume battery power, it relies on your team's communication and quick thinking. Upgrades are not applicable to the board directly, but having a well-organized team ensures you can utilize its full potential without wasting time debating basic facts.
Did You Know?
- The Evidence Board is part of the set of equipment permanently located inside the van, alongside the Surveillance Computer, Sanity Monitor, map, Sound Sensor Screen, and Site Activity Monitor.
- Players must mark evidence and ghost identification in their Journal to receive money and XP, not on the board itself.
- On certain difficulties, the Sanity Monitor and Site Activity Monitor may be disabled and appear as smashed screens, but the Evidence Board remains functional.
- The board helps players track the seven possible pieces of ghost evidence available as of November 2025.
- On Nightmare difficulty and higher, ghosts show only two or fewer pieces of evidence, making the board critical for deducing the ghost type using special traits and abilities.
